Despite his success in building a competitive team with limited resources, Valencia are in no rush to renew Rubén Baraja’s contract.
The 48-year-old coach has a contract until June 2025, and the club believes there is plenty of time to secure his long-term future.
“We love that the fans and the public are delighted with him after his appointment in February 2023. There will be time to talk to him about the future. I see him happy and I am confident that everything will work out,” said Miguel Ángel Corona, the club’s sporting director, in statements reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Baraja has been praised for his work ethic and his ability to get the best out of his players. He has also been credited with creating a positive atmosphere at the club.
Valencia are currently in 10th place in La Liga, and they are on course to finish in the top half of the table for the first time in three seasons.
Baraja’s contract situation is likely to be a topic of discussion in the coming months, but the club is in no rush to make a decision. They are confident that he will remain at the club for the long term.
