Kylian Mbappé’s potential move to Real Madrid could be complicated by his desire to participate in the Olympic Games.
The French superstar is out of contract at the end of the season and is widely expected to join Real Madrid. However, there is a potential issue with the Spanish club’s willingness to let him participate in the Olympics.
David Sanchez, speaking on COPE, raised the question of whether Real Madrid would be willing to let Mbappé go to the Olympics. He said, “Real Madrid are going to sign a guy who is going to play in the Olympics? What if he breaks his leg? I want to see if Real Madrid will tell Mbappé, ‘Go to the Olympics’ if they sign him.”
Sanchez believes that Real Madrid will still sign Mbappé, saying, “I have the feeling that Real Madrid are letting it be known, with interest, that they are perhaps going to sign Mbappé this summer. And I am convinced that they will sign him. But it happens quickly. Mbappé has never decided in advance. Everything he has done in his life, he has done and confirmed at the last second of the last second.”
It is worth noting that Ben Jacobs recently reported that PSG is the only club that has guaranteed Mbappé the certainty of playing in the Olympics.
