Luka Jovic finds his place in Milan

Luka Jovic arrived on a free transfer from Fiorentina on the last day of the summer transfer window. The Serbian striker (formerly of Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Madrid) signed a contract until June 30th, 2024 with a net salary of €1.3 million per year. Milan has the option to extend the agreement for another 3 seasons. Jovic is eager to stay and is trying to convince the management with his decisive goals.

Since scoring his first goal in a Milan jersey, Jovic has averaged a goal every 41 minutes played in the league (5 goals in 205 minutes and 7 appearances). Including the Coppa Italia, the Serbian striker has scored 7 goals in 385 minutes and 9 appearances, with an average of one goal every 55 minutes played.

Until now, Olivier Giroud has played the leading role in recent seasons. He renewed his contract last April until the end of this season. However, the French striker is now tempted by an experience in the MLS and could sign a pre-agreement for next season. This has accelerated negotiations with Luka Jovic due to the fear of being left without strikers.
