Roma 4-0 Cagliari: Player Ratings

Man of the Match: Pellegrini (8)

The Roma captain led by example, scoring the opening goal in the first minute and setting the tone for a dominant performance.

Roma (4-3-3)

Rui Patricio (6): A quiet evening for the Portuguese goalkeeper, who was rarely called into action.

Karsdorp (7): Solid defensively and offered plenty of width going forward, almost scoring with a shot that hit the post early on.

Mancini (7.5): Composed and error-free, he formed a solid wall at the heart of the Roma defense.

Llorente (7): Another assured performance, dealing comfortably with the threat of the Cagliari attack. He was replaced by Huijsen on 55 minutes, who went on to score the final goal of the game.

Angelino (6.5): Could have been more adventurous in attack, but still put in a solid shift. He was replaced by Kristensen on 58 minutes.

Cristante (7): A real driving force in the Roma midfield, he dictated the tempo of the game and denied Cagliari any chance of getting into it.

Paredes (6.5): A tidy performance, but he could have avoided some unnecessary provocation. He provided the assist for Huijsen’s goal.

Pellegrini (8): See above. He was replaced by Bove on 55 minutes.

Dybala (8): A constant threat in attack, his efforts were eventually rewarded with a goal and a coolly converted penalty. He was replaced by Baldanzi on 74 minutes.

Lukaku (6): Worked hard to trouble the Cagliari defense but was well marshaled and found it difficult to make an impact.

El Shaarawy (6.5): A selfless performance, he worked hard to create space for his teammates and put them in good positions to make a difference. He was replaced by Zalewski.

Cagliari (3-5-2)

Scuffet (4): Committed but could not prevent the sinking ship.

Dossena (4): The Sardinian defense was helpless against a particularly in-form Giallorossi side. However, he limited the attacking threat posed by Lukaku. Ranieri threw caution to the wind and replaced him with Viola in the 62nd minute.

Mina (3.5): Like his teammates, he was unable to resist the Romans. He also showed signs of nervousness and was replaced by Wieteska in the 67th minute.

Obert (4): The Rossoblu defense was leaking tonight, and he could not make a difference.

Zappa (4): He struggled to find his place on the pitch tonight against a much better organized team.

Nandez (3.5): He fell into the trap of provocations and could not play his game.

Prati (4): He had no impact tonight against a Roma side that was in control and eventually stopped playing. He was replaced by Gaetano in the 62nd minute.

Makombou (3.5): He offered very little and found no solution to counter Roma’s impeccable defense.

Azzi (4): He tried to make some openings for his teammates, but without success against a well-organized team. Luvumbo replaced him in the 62nd minute.

Petagna (4.5): The only danger for the Sardinians came from a few good chances he created. Unfortunately for him, it was not enough to make a difference.

Lapadula (3.5): He offered very little in the end, and was blocked by the Roman defenders who gave him no space to express himself.
