Liverpool are reportedly preparing to offer €50 million for OGC Nice midfielder Khéphren Thuram.
The 22-year-old has been a key player for Nice this season, making 23 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals. He has also broken into the French national team, winning his first cap in September 2022.
Thuram is under contract at Nice until June 2025, but he has a release clause of €50 million. According to Italian outlet CMW, Liverpool are willing to meet that clause in order to sign the player.
Liverpool are in need of midfield reinforcements. Jordan Henderson and Fabhino are both in their 30s, and Naby Keita has been plagued by injuries. Thuram is seen as a long-term option for the Reds.
Thuram is a versatile midfielder who can play in a number of positions. He is comfortable playing as a box-to-box midfielder, a deep-lying playmaker, or even as an attacking midfielder. He is also a good passer and has a strong shot.
If Liverpool do sign Thuram, it would be a major coup for the club. He is one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe, and he has the potential to be a key player for Liverpool for many years to come.
