Official! Werder signs first summer transfer

As reported by Sky sport, Werder Bremen have signed Rapid Vienna star Marco Grüll on a free transfer. The 23-year-old Austrian forward will join the Bundesliga club in the summer.

Werder sporting director Clemens Fritz said: “We have been following Marco’s progress for a long time. He has developed very positively in recent years. We are therefore very pleased that we were able to convince Marco of our sporting concept and his perspective at our club.”

Grüll has made 24 appearances for Rapid this season, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists. He said: “It is a great honor for me to be able to wear the jersey of SV Werder Bremen from the summer onwards and to be part of this team. I am ready to give my best and continue my positive development in order to help the team achieve its goals.”

Grüll is a versatile attacker who can play on the wing or as a central striker. He is a good dribbler and passer, and he has an eye for goal. He is also a hard worker and he has a good attitude.

Grüll is a good signing for Werder. He is a young player with potential, and he could be a key player for the club in the future.
