Lionel Messi: Saudi official trolls the player after Al Nassr’s 6-0 win over Inter Miami

Lionel Messi was on the receiving end of some online trolling from a Saudi official after Al Nassr’s 6-0 win over Inter Miami in a friendly match on Thursday.

The match was billed as a potential reunion between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portuguese forward was ruled out with a minor injury. In his absence, Al Nassr ran riot, scoring six goals without reply.

One of the goalscorers was Anderson Talisca, who is on loan from Al Nassr’s rivals Al Hilal. After the match, Talisca posted a picture of himself celebrating his goal with the caption: “The best player in the world is here.”

This was a clear reference to Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December after leaving Manchester United. The tweet was widely shared and liked by Al Nassr fans, many of whom took the opportunity to troll Messi.

Turki Alalshikh, the president of the Saudi General Sports Authority, also joined in on the trolling. He posted a picture of himself on Twitter with the caption: “Messi, you made the wrong choice.”

This was a reference to Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami rather than Al Hilal last summer. Al Hilal had reportedly offered Messi a huge contract, but he ultimately decided to move to the United States.

Messi’s performance against Al Nassr was not his best. He was largely anonymous for most of the match and failed to create any clear-cut chances. He was also substituted in the 80th minute, with the score at 6-0.

It was a disappointing night for Messi, but he will be hoping to bounce back when Inter Miami face Philadelphia Union in their next match on Saturday.
