FC Barcelona’s next coach: Flick preparing his arrival?

FC Barcelona is facing a coaching change at the end of the season as Xavi has announced his departure. The club is now on the lookout for a new coach, and several potential candidates have been mentioned in the media.

One of the candidates who seems particularly interested in the job is Hansi Flick. The German coach has been free since September after being dismissed from his position as the German national team coach.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Flick is already taking Spanish lessons in preparation for a potential move to Barcelona. He is reportedly attracted by the prospect of coaching the Blaugrana, especially since Carlo Ancelotti has recently extended his contract with Real Madrid and Diego Simeone does not seem ready to leave Atlético Madrid.

There are even reports of initial contacts between Flick and Barcelona. However, Deco, the club’s sporting director, has denied any such contacts. He told La Vanguardia: “We are still digesting the announcement of our coach. We are not looking for his replacement.”
