Ferran Torres tears up on Montjuic after injury in Barça-Osasuna

More trouble for Barcelona.

Barcelona’s Wednesday afternoon match against Osasuna, postponed from the Spanish Super Cup round, got off to a bad start when Ferran Torres was forced off injured after just five minutes. The Spanish international limped off the field in tears, visibly shaken, and joins a long list of injured players at the club.

Torres’ injury is particularly concerning as it comes on the heels of Joao Félix’s ankle injury, which was announced yesterday. The Portuguese star was injured in training ahead of the Osasuna match, and Barcelona is now losing key attacking players with the Champions League tie against Napoli looming.

Torres was clearly distraught as he left the field, covering his face with his shirt. He was applauded by the crowd at Montjuic, as well as by his teammates and Osasuna manager Jagoba Arrasate.

Xavi was the last to greet Torres, giving him a pat on the back and a hug as he made his way to the bench. Fermín López, who was making his first-team debut, came on to replace Torres.

Torres is just the latest name on Barcelona’s long list of injured players. The club is constantly losing key players to injury, and the list of those who have not been injured this season is getting shorter and shorter.
