Chelsea have confirmed that they will be sending midfielder Andrey Santos on loan to French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg. The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days.
The decision to loan Santos out was made following internal discussions at Chelsea. The club believes that a loan spell at a top European club would be the best way for Santos to develop his game.
Santos, who is 20 years old, joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in January 2023. He made his debut for the club in the Carabao Cup in August of that year, but he has since struggled to break into the first team.
Despite his lack of playing time, Chelsea still believe that Santos has the potential to become a top player. The loan move to Strasbourg is seen as an opportunity for him to gain valuable experience and improve his skills.
