The transfer saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé is still going strong, and the latest reports from Spain suggest that the French superstar’s entourage is making some pretty big demands of Real Madrid.
According to El Desmarque, Mbappé’s clan is asking for a salary of €100 million gross, or €50 million net, per year. That would make him the highest-paid player in the world, and it’s a far cry from the €20 million net salary that Real Madrid are currently offering.
The clan is also reportedly asking for a €175 million signing bonus, which would be the largest in history.
If these demands are accurate, it’s hard to see how Real Madrid could accept them. The club is already paying €35 million net per year to Gareth Bale, and they’re also trying to sign Erling Haaland. Adding Mbappé to the mix would put a serious strain on their finances.
Of course, it’s still possible that these reports are just speculation. Mbappé himself has said that he’s still undecided about his future, and he may not be willing to make such big demands.
But if these reports are true, it’s clear that Mbappé is playing hardball with Real Madrid. He wants to be the highest-paid player in the world, and he’s willing to walk away if he doesn’t get what he wants.
