Rennes land Seidu as they continue to strengthen

Rennes have completed the signing of Alidu Seidu from Clermont Foot, the club confirmed on Monday.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian international has joined the Ligue 1 side on a six-year deal for a fee of around €11 million.

Seidu is a versatile defender who can play at left-back or as a left-sided midfielder. He is known for his pace, dribbling ability and passing skills.

The Ghanaian has been one of Clermont’s standout players this season, making 27 appearances in Ligue 1, including 24 starts. He has scored two goals and provided four assists.

Seidu is Rennes’ third signing of the winter transfer window, following the arrivals of Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer and Norwegian striker Martin Terrier.

The Breton club are hoping that these signings will help them finish the season strongly and qualify for the Champions League.
