Pietro Pellegri could be on the move from Torino in the final hours of the January transfer window. According to TMW, the striker is looking for more playing time elsewhere, and with Genoa close to signing Vitinha, Empoli could be the club to benefit.
Until yesterday, it looked like M’Baye Niang was set to be the Empoli’s attacking reinforcement, but as we reported earlier today, the deal has almost collapsed. As a result, the Tuscan club is now looking elsewhere.
Torino is continuing negotiations with Sevilla for Rafa Mir, and if the deal goes through, Pellegri’s chances of playing time would be even slimmer. As a result, the Granata would be willing to let him leave on loan until the end of the season.
Empoli has already made some inquiries, and the two clubs will be in talks again in the coming hours to try to reach a deal.
This season, Pellegri has made 17 appearances for Torino in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, for a total of just 417 minutes. He has yet to score a goal, and his frustration was evident on Friday when his goal against Cagliari was ruled out for offside by VAR.
