Real Madrid came from behind to beat Las Palmas 2-1 and go top of LaLiga

It was a tough test for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as Las Palmas gave their raucous fans plenty to cheer about in the first half. But Vinícius Jr. and Aurélien Tchouaméni came to the rescue with second-half goals to secure the three points.

Las Palmas started brightly and could have taken the lead early on when Alberto Moleiro’s deflected effort flew narrowly over the bar. Munir El Haddadi also headed wide from a corner, and the home side were looking to rough up Real Madrid.

Antonio Rüdiger missed a good chance to open the scoring for Real Madrid when he headed wide from a Fran García free-kick. But it was Las Palmas who took the lead just after the hour mark when Javi Muñoz’s deflected shot beat Andriy Lunin in the Real Madrid goal.

Real Madrid didn’t give up though, and they equalised in the 65th minute through Vinícius Jr. The Brazilian winger received a brilliant pass from Toni Kroos and Eduardo Camavinga, and he fired a superb left-footed strike past Álvaro Valles.

Real Madrid then went on to win the game in the 84th minute when Tchouaméni headed home from a Kroos corner. It was a hard-fought win for Real Madrid, but they did enough to claim the three points and go top of the table.
