PSG: Is Ousmane Dembélé already on the way out?

Is it possible that Ousmane Dembélé will only spend one season at PSG?

On August 12, 2023, Paris Saint-Germain announced the signing of Ousmane Dembélé. The French international signed a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €50.4 million, the amount of his release clause when he had one year left on his contract with FC Barcelona.

While the former Borussia Dortmund player has shown flashes of his trademark brilliance, his statistics with the capital club have left something to be desired for the time being. In 22 matches, in all competitions, the 26-year-old winger has scored just one goal. According to the media outlets Todo Fichajes and The Mirror, Manchester United is interested in bringing him back in the next summer transfer window. The Red Devils are reportedly considering offering €50 million to the Paris leaders to poach the native of Vernon.

It remains to be seen how his second half of the season will go before a real departure can be considered. So far, Luis Enrique has made him one of his starters in his attacking trident.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain and I am impatient to play in my new colors,” Ousmane Dembélé said shortly after his signing, as quoted in the PSG press release. “I hope to continue to grow here and make all the fans of the club proud.”
