The Atlético Madrid have confirmed the sale of Ivo Grbic to Sheffield United in a deal worth an initial €10 million. The Croatian goalkeeper has been a backup to Jan Oblak at the Wanda Metropolitano for the past three seasons, and he will now have the opportunity to be a starter in the Premier League.
Grbic is excited about the move, saying: “I am very happy to be here. It is a great challenge for me. I have played in good leagues in France and Spain, I have played in the Champions League with Lille, and last season I played 15 or 16 games with Atlético. I know that I am now ready for this challenge.”

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom is also pleased with the signing, saying: “Ivo is a top-class goalkeeper with a lot of experience. He is a great signing for us and I am sure he will be a big asset to the club.”
Grbic is expected to make his debut for Sheffield United in the next few weeks. The Blades are currently in 20th place in the Premier League, and they will be hoping that Grbic can help them to avoid relegation.
