Atlético de Madrid have officially signed Romanian goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan from Rapid București. The 26-year-old will join the Spanish club on a deal until the end of the season, with an option to extend for three more years.
Moldovan has been a key player for the Romanian national team in recent years, making 22 appearances this season and keeping 10 clean sheets. He began his career at CFR Cluj, before being loaned out to FC Hermannstadt and Energeticianul. In 2021, he joined Rapid București, where he has made 82 appearances in three seasons.
Moldovan is the third Romanian player to play for Atlético Madrid, after Daniel Claudiu Prodan and Cosmin Marius Contra. He passed his medical at the Vithas Madrid Arturo Soria University Hospital before signing his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano in the presence of CEO Miguel Ángel Gil.
