Lyon making a move for Karim Benzema

The Karim Benzema saga is getting more and more complicated.

As we reported a few days ago, the French striker is not happy with his situation at Al Ittihad. He has been criticized by fans and was late to return to the team due to weather conditions. Some reports say that he is unhappy in Saudi Arabia, but his entourage has denied these claims. We also reported that a departure is not on the cards, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from swirling.

Today, Sky Sports reported that Benzema is considering leaving Al Ittihad and that there are talks underway about a possible amicable separation. RMC Sport added that Lyon, Benzema’s former club, is very interested in bringing the 36-year-old back to France.

However, the deal would be very complicated. Benzema is reportedly earning a huge salary in Saudi Arabia, and Lyon did not specifically target a striker in the winter transfer window. The club is still looking for a midfielder, winger, and center-back.
