The transfer of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid could be announced at any moment, according to the latest reports.
It was clear that with 2024 upon us and Mbappé yet to sign a new contract, there would be a flurry of rumors and speculation about the French forward’s future.
There has been talk of a renewal, an ultimatum from Real Madrid, offers, and even the possibility of no movement at all.
One of the latest to weigh in on the situation is former PSG goalkeeper Mickaël Landreau, who knows the club inside out. And his comments have been quite surprising.
Goodbye to PSG
Landreau has spoken about what he thinks will happen with Mbappé next season, and he is clear that Kylian will be leaving the Parc des Princes this year.
“All the signs point to a departure. If he wanted to stay, I don’t see why he would be keeping quiet for so long,” Landreau said.
But that’s not all he had to say. He also discussed the motivations that would lead the Frenchman to leave PSG, where he could earn a lot more money, for Madrid.
“It’s a sporting issue, about winning titles, the Ballon d’Or, and developing his career. It’s no longer about money. I would say he’s leaving,” he concluded in a clear statement.
