Stian Gregersen heads to Atlanta

After two seasons in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Norwegian defender Stian Gregersen is leaving Bordeaux for Atlanta United. The 28-year-old has signed a contract with the MLS club that runs through the 2027 season, with an option for an additional year.

Gregersen made 75 appearances for Bordeaux, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He is known for his physical presence and his ability to play out of the back.

“We’re excited to add Stian to our roster,” said Atlanta United head coach Gonzalo Pineda. “He’s a strong, athletic defender who brings a lot of experience to our backline. He’s also a good passer and can help us build out of the back.”

Gregersen is expected to make his MLS debut in March.
