Earlier this month, we reported that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo had purchased a luxurious villa on Jumeirah Bay Island in Dubai, also known as Billionaires’ Island. Bloomberg reported that Ronaldo had acquired a compound on the horse-shaped island, and his property, estimated at €25 million, is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
However, a representative for Ronaldo denied the rumors in The Sun when asked for details about the purchase. Jumeirah Bay Island is an exclusive enclave that is home to many billionaires, including Israeli businessman Teddy Sagi, Saudi Arabian billionaire Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, the wife of Russian billionaire Andrei Skoch, and Isabel dos Santos, the eldest daughter of former Angolan dictator José Eduardo dos Santos.
Luxury lifestyle in the Middle East
In addition to being a community of the wealthy, the island has a yacht club, several high-end restaurants, and the Bulgari Resort Dubai, a luxurious hotel owned by the Italian fashion house. Ronaldo is known for his luxurious stays in the Middle East. Last year, he stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel, located in one of the tallest skyscrapers in Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom Tower in Riyadh. His one-month stay reportedly cost $300,000.
The possibility of a move
Despite the denial from his representative, it seems that Ronaldo is indeed planning to live in Dubai. Billionaires’ Island is the perfect place for him, as it allows him to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle and be surrounded by wealthy and influential people.
