Despite the signing of Thilo Kehrer, Monaco is still looking to add a center-back to its squad in the winter transfer window. According to RMC Sport, the principality club has made an approach to Sevilla for Loïc Badé.
Badé, 23, is a French center-back who came through the ranks at Lens. He joined Sevilla in 2021 for €12 million. This season, he has made 16 appearances in all competitions.
Monaco’s interest in Badé is understandable. The club is looking to strengthen its defense for the second half of the season, with Guillermo Maripan reportedly set to leave for Rennes.
Sevilla, for its part, would not be opposed to selling Badé. The Andalusian club is looking for a fee of around €20 million for the player.
The Badé deal is therefore a serious one for Monaco. The club will need to convince Sevilla of its intentions and Badé to join the Principality.
A promising but difficult target
Badé is an attractive target for Monaco. He is young, French, and has a good potential. However, he will not be easy to sign.
Sevilla does not want to part ways with Badé immediately. The Andalusian club wants to keep him for the second half of the season, especially to help the team stay in La Liga.
In addition, Badé has a contract with Sevilla until 2027. The Andalusian club could therefore demand a significant fee for the player.
Monaco will therefore need to be patient and persuasive to sign Badé. The club will also need to be prepared to pay the price for the player.
