Bayern: New Right-Back Swoop to France

The transfer merry-go-round at Bayern Munich is spinning like a top these days. For the right side, the powers-that-be would love to nab a Frenchman to Germany.

What Bayern Munich has been bragging about is now being put to the test. The German champions’ squad needs to be beefed up in breadth. There is a desperate need, especially for the defensive area. While the focus is on Eric Dier (29) and Radu Dragusin (21) with a view to the center, the record champions have set their sights on a Ligue 1 legionnaire for the wing.

A new candidate that Bayern Munich has taken a shine to is Jonathan Clauss of Olympique Marseille. ‘Téléfoot‘ reports that the Munichers would love to pair the defender on the right side alongside winger Kingsley Coman (27). The duo recently wowed together in the French national team.

Clauss is only contractually bound to OM until 2025. From 2018 to 2020, the 31-year-old put in a shift for Arminia Bielefeld. In Marseille, the native of Strasbourg has made a name for himself as a regular and international player. In 25 games in the current season, he has already contributed to nine goals (two goals, five assists) across competitions.
