Barça: Raphinha stays put, for now

The verdict is in: Raphinha is staying at Barcelona. The Brazilian winger had been linked with a move to the Premier League, but according to Sport, Deco, the Blaugranas’ new sporting director, has blocked the transfer.

“Raphinha, se queda!” exclaimed Sport’s headline.The report says that Deco is confident that Raphinha can be a key player for Barcelona, despite the club’s financial struggles.

“If anyone has to leave, it won’t be him,” Deco said. Raphinha arrived at Barcelona in July 2022 for €58 million. He has quickly made an impact, starting 35 games and scoring 10 goals in his first season.

This season, he has acored four goals and six assists in 19 appearances.

Barça fans will have to wait until the end of the January transfer window to see if Raphinha stays for the rest of the season.
