Real Madrid kicks off their title defense: Arandina, the first stop in the Copa del Rey

Real Madrid is ready to make their debut in the Copa del Rey, a competition of which they are the defending champions, something that motivates the players led by Carlo Ancelotti even more.

The Madrid team will visit the Municipal Stadium of the Juan Carlos Higuero Sports Complex on Saturday, where they will face Arandina CF, in a match corresponding to the round of 16 of the “tournament of the KO”.

“It will be a difficult match, like the one last year against Cacereño. Tomorrow we have to take it seriously because it will be complicated, but we will try to win because it is a competition that we are very interested in. It is possible that due to fatigue, since we play on Wednesday night, I will make some changes, but the team will be competitive,” said Carlo Ancelotti himself in the pre-match press conference.

These two teams, who have never faced each other in history, will face off in search of advancing to the next round, something for which Real Madrid will present a line-up that makes their intentions clear from the first minute.

Toni Kroos, Vinicius Jr., Ferland Mendy, Lucas Vázquez, Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba and Aurélien Tchouaméni will be missing for Carlo Ancelotti’s men in Aranda de Duero, but the good news in the call-up is the return of Eduardo Camavinga, who will be accompanied by up to 6 players from the youth academy.
