Olympique Lyonnais interested in David Carmo

Olympique Lyonnais are looking to strengthen their defense in the January transfer window and have identified David Carmo as a potential target, according to RMC Sport.

The 24-year-old Portuguese defender is currently playing for FC Porto, but he has not been a regular starter this season. He has made just 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.

Carmo is under contract with Porto until June 2027, but he has a release clause. Lyon have reportedly made an offer to sign him on loan with an option to buy.

Carmo is a tall and athletic defender who is good in the air. He is also a good passer and can start attacks from the back.

He would be a good addition to Lyon’s defense, which has been struggling this season. The club has conceded 36 goals in 20 Ligue 1 matches, the second-most in the league.

It remains to be seen whether Lyon will be able to agree a deal with Porto for Carmo. However, he would be a good option for the club as they look to improve their defense in the second half of the season.
