Lucas Alario, who had been under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until June 2025, has left the German club. The current sixth-place Bundesliga team announced on Thursday evening that the Argentine striker had joined Internacional Porto Alegre SC, a Brazilian Série A club.
“Thank you, Lucas Alario,” the German club wrote on social media. “The striker leaves Eintracht and joins Brazilian top-flight club Internacional Porto Alegre SC with immediate effect.”
Alario, who joined Frankfurt in July 2022, was hampered by a serious knee injury and scored only two goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.
Danke und viel Erfolg, @lucasalario13! 🍀💪

The 31-year-old Alario has previously played for River Plate and Bayer Leverkusen. He is a versatile striker who can play as a center forward, a winger, or a second striker.
His departure is a blow to Frankfurt, which is currently in the midst of a strong season. The club is in contention for a Europa League spot and is also in the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal.
International joins Alario
Internacional, which is based in Porto Alegre, is a traditional Brazilian club that has won seven Série A titles. The club is currently in ninth place in the league.
Alario’s arrival is a major coup for Internacional. The striker is a proven goalscorer who will add much-needed firepower to the club’s attack.
