Thomas Tuchel is looking for new defensive reinforcements. Bayern Munich scouts have identified Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham as a potential signing.
Bayern Munich needs to strengthen on the winter transfer market. The temporary absences of Min-jae Kim (27, South Korea) and Noussair Mazraoui (26, Morocco) at their respective continental tournaments are weighing heavily. Numerous defenders have been linked to the German record champions in recent days.
According to FT information, Tosin Adarabioyo is another candidate. The Fulham central defender is particularly appreciated by technical director Marco Neppe. The Munich side recently watched Adarabioyo live on Boxing Day. The Cottagers lost 0-3 to AFC Bournemouth in that game. Despite the heavy defeat, Adarabioyo received acceptable reviews in the English media. Adarabioyo’s contract expires in the summer, so the right-footer would likely be available at a bargain price.
The 26-year-old is thus part of a long list of potential new signings for Bayern. The Bundesliga runners-up are primarily looking for their luck in the Premier League. In addition to Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah (24) of Chelsea, Raphaël Varane (30) of Manchester United and Clément Lenglet (28) of Aston Villa are candidates on Säbener Straße.
Bayern still needs to agree a deal with Fulham for Adarabioyo. The English club is likely to demand a transfer fee, even though the player’s contract expires in the summer.
Bayern also have other options under consideration. Chalobah, Varane and Lenglet are all quality players who could strengthen Bayern’s defense. Tuchel will have the final say on which player joins the club.
