RC Lens: Franck Haise to be without 8 players in January

RC Lens manager Franck Haise is facing a major challenge in January, as he will be without eight players for the month. This will put a strain on his squad as they compete in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Europa Conference League.

The eight players who will be absent are: Deiver Machado (injured), Jimmy Cabot (injured), Nampalys Mendy (Africa Cup of Nations), Salis Abdul Samed (Africa Cup of Nations), Morgan Guilavogui (Africa Cup of Nations), Massadio Haïdara (Africa Cup of Nations), Abdukodir Khusanov (Asian Cup), Oscar Cortés (Olympic qualifying tournament).

Haise has already identified two positions that he needs to strengthen: a defensive midfielder who can also play at center back, and a left-back to replace Machado. However, Lens sporting director Frédéric Hébert has struggled to make any progress on these deals.

Hébert has several targets in mind, but none of them seem to be close to a transfer. He has also been criticized for targeting more attacking players, such as Alvaro Barreal and Alexander Aravena.

The Lens board is expected to step up its efforts in the coming days to identify other potential signings.

The absence of so many players will be a major challenge for Haise and his team. However, if they can stay healthy and find some good form, they will still be a force to be reckoned with in Ligue 1.
