Olympique Lyonnais is reportedly interested in signing Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 20-year-old Tunisian midfielder is out of contract with United in June 2024 and is free to negotiate with other clubs from January 2024.
Mejbri has struggled to break into the United first team since his arrival from Monaco in 2019. He has made just four appearances in the Premier League this season, totaling 41 minutes of playing time. He was also loaned to Birmingham City in the Championship last season.
Lyon is looking to strengthen its midfield and Mejbri would be a welcome addition. He is a talented player with a lot of potential. He is also versatile and can play in a variety of positions.
However, Lyon faces competition from other clubs for Mejbri’s signature. Sevilla and Freiburg are also interested in the midfielder.
Sevilla is a Champions League club and would offer Mejbri the opportunity to play at the highest level. Freiburg is currently fifth in the Bundesliga and is also playing European football.
It remains to be seen where Mejbri will end up playing next season. However, it is clear that he is a sought-after player with a bright future ahead of him.
