Francesco Farioli, who arrived on the OGC Nice bench this summer, has made quite an impression. The 34-year-old Italian coach has turned the Gym into the best defense in Ligue 1, and they were unbeaten for a long time on French soil. These impressive performances have made him a talking point in his home country.
According to Tuttosport, AC Milan is very interested in the Nice coach. Farioli has only had assistant coaching roles in Italy so far, with Benevento and Sassuolo under Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian daily newspaper reports that Stefano Pioli, who has been in charge of the Lombard club since 2019, could see his future at the club darkened by a disappointing first half of the season. AC Milan is third in Serie A, far behind their Inter Milan rivals, and they could only manage to qualify for the Europa League, where they will face Stade Rennais in the playoffs.
In addition to Farioli, AC Milan’s directors are also considering Thiago Motta, who is doing well at Bologna from fourth place, or Vincenzo Italiano, who is just behind in the standings with Fiorentina.
For his part, Farioli is second in Ligue 1, and Nice fans want him to stay for a long time.
