Barcelona is concerned: the Mbappé-Real Madrid deal is taking shape

Kylian Mbappé Firmly Stands His Ground at PSG

One of the players who was part of the best Barça in the history of the Catalan club has given his opinion on the big move of the next summer transfer market.

Real Madrid could sign Kylian Mbappé in the next summer transfer market. Recent rumors suggest that the board of directors of the white club, led by Florentino Pérez, would approach the entourage of the Bondy striker with a pre-contract offer with a limited duration. This negotiation attempt would take place in January and would be ready to be made public in the summer, once the 23/24 season is over.

All the “media noise” that the “Mbappé case” has raised since it began in the summer of 2017 has led to all sorts of statements. A former Barça player also gives his opinion on the “culebrón” created around the “7” of PSG and a possible departure from the Parc des Princes in mid-2024: Thierry Henry. The French striker has “confessed” what he would do if he were in his compatriot’s place: “If I were Kylian Mbappé, I would not leave. I would want to finish what I started.”

With this phrase, Thierry Henry speaks of PSG’s dream of winning the Champions League, a competition that has been particularly elusive for the entity chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi for several years. With the arrival of Mbappé, the first “Orejona” was envisioned in the showcases of the Parc des Princes, but it arrived earlier at the Etihad Stadium.

He doesn’t want him to leave

The former footballer has also asked: “Why should he leave? He loves PSG and he is from the city, we have to understand it.” Thierry Henry seems opposed to Kylian Mbappé leaving PSG to, theoretically, join Santiago Bernabéu as a free agent. This would be a move that would benefit the sporting interests of the white club, as the succession to the “9” left vacant by Karim Benzema would be resolved.

Likewise, Henry would see how one of the “rival” clubs during his playing days would be strengthened and “climb a step” more in terms of quality and competitiveness. Especially in attack, whose list would be expanded thanks to the Bondy striker: this amplitude would mean more rotations and more energy for titular players such as Vinícius, Rodrygo or Kylian Mbappé himself.
