Endrick was supposed to sign with Chelsea instead of Real Madrid!

In July 2024, Endrick will officially join Real Madrid. A date eagerly awaited by the Merengues since his recruitment in 2022 for the substantial sum of 60 million euros. An astronomical transfer fee for a teenager born in 2006, who is only 17 years old. But the Madrid team didn’t hesitate to invest this money.

Chelsea, on the other hand, did. The father of the Brazilian prodigy recently spoke to Fabrizio Romano and revealed that the London club was on the verge of signing his son, Endrick. “We received an invitation from Chelsea, from the owner, and we went there to see the club and the country. We saw Chelsea play against Arsenal, and we had the opportunity to see the coach, the facilities, Jorginho, CĂ©sar Azpilicueta, and Thiago Silva,” he explained.

“They explained everything to us. We were introduced to the person who would help us settle in. She showed us the house we would live in, the school Endrick would attend, the church we would go to. Everything was going well until the last moment: I can’t say 100% because I hadn’t signed yet, but the deal was done. I had already thought that I would live in London with all that cold. But then, in the night, my son’s representative called and said that the owner of Chelsea had withdrawn from the transaction because the price he would have to pay for Endrick would inflate the market. It was a total of 60 million euros for a 16-year-old boy who would arrive in the country almost two years later… then, Real Madrid came,” Endrick’s father explained.

Let’s hope for the Blues that the young talent doesn’t become as formidable as expected in the Spanish capital, or they might regret it.
