Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is eyeing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé, should the latter depart next summer. However, Napoli is not willing to let go of their prized Georgian gem without a fight.
According to 90 min website, PSG has marked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s name on their wishlist in the event of Kylian Mbappé’s departure at the end of the current season. Over the past two years, the 22-year-old forward has made a name for himself at Napoli and might be enticed by a new ambitious project, especially in the role of a true football star. Yet, PSG’s leadership should brace for stiff competition, as representatives from Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City, and Manchester United were reportedly present to scout Kvaratskhelia, according to the sports media. Nevertheless, the Italian club is adamant about retaining its Georgian jewel, as indicated by his agent.
SSC Napoli Working on Extending Kvaratskhelia’s Contract
In an interview with the local portal TuttoNapoli, Mamuka Jugeli made it clear that SSC Napoli’s management does not intend to sell their player in the upcoming summer transfer window. Tied to the club until June 2027, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is not on the market, and Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is actively working on a contract extension proposal, accompanied by a significantly increased salary.
“In the near future, there will be adjustments to his contract. De Laurentiis is a very good person, a man of his word who fulfills all his promises; he has done a lot of good things for us,” explained the representative of the Georgian international. According to Kvaratskhelia’s agent, his client is “a top-level footballer and deserves more, but that will happen.” Paris Saint-Germain has been duly warned by the player’s camp.
