Nacho Fernández is considering a move to Napoli after becoming surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.
The Spanish defender has been at the Bernabeu since 2013 but has fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons. He has made just 11 appearances in all competitions this year and is unlikely to play a major role in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for next season.
Napoli are looking to strengthen their defense and see Fernandez as a potential addition. The 33-year-old is a versatile player who can play at centre-back or right-back. He is also experienced and has won a number of trophies during his time at Madrid.
A move to Napoli would represent a new challenge for Fernandez. He has never played in Serie A before and would be joining a club that is challenging for major honours. It would also be a chance for him to prove himself at the highest level again.
Fernandez is still considering his options but it seems likely that he will leave Madrid this summer. He is looking for a club where he will be able to play regularly and Napoli appear to be the best option for him at the moment.
