Florentino Perez is considering issuing a statement similar to the one about Mbappe for another player

On November 4, 2023, Real Madrid released an official statement to deny reports that the club had closed the signing of Kylian Mbappé and his salary. The Madrid club said that everything was a lie, because the player belongs to Paris Saint-Germain, and it would be illegal to have any kind of deal.

This is not the only player who is being linked with Real Madrid. Several journalists also claim that Alphonso Davies will sign for Real Madrid in 2024, when the player has a contract until June 30, 2025, and Madrid could not negotiate anything with him until it had spoken to Bayern Munich first.

Since this would be an illegal move if it were true, Real Madrid is considering denying the information in the same way that it did with Mbappé. The club believes that Bayern Munich is a friendly club and wants to maintain its relationship with them so that it can negotiate the player’s transfer correctly in the summer.

It is clear that Alphonso Davies is one of Real Madrid’s targets to reinforce the left-back position in the next season. He is the best player in the world in that position and he is only 23 years old, so his signing would fit perfectly with the club’s present and future project.

Step by step

Real Madrid does not want to rush things. Instead of making the signing a soap opera, as other clubs do, the club prefers to keep everything quiet. There are players on the team who have spoken to Davies and have told him wonderful things about Real Madrid, but the club is being very careful with any kind of contact.

The club will not speak directly to Davies until it has reached an initial agreement with Bayern Munich. This could happen in early summer 2024, but for that to happen, Alphonso Davies would have to continue without renewing his contract.
