The uncertainty about Kylian Mbappé’s future is not only infuriating Real Madrid fans. Paris Saint-Germain fans and the French press in general are tired of the player not making it clear where he will play next season, as his contract expires in June.
Jérôme Rothen, a former Paris Saint-Germain footballer, is sure that Kylian Mbappé will remain silent until early 2024. However, he believes that he has to say now what he is going to do with his future. According to him and several colleagues at RMC, if he did so, the questions and doubts about his play and level at Paris Saint-Germain would be avoided.
“Should Mbappé clarify his future? Yes, he should. He has locked himself in a bubble where communication is not good. He communicates nothing or very little, and he does not want to explain why or how (…) He does not have good behavior and I speak in his club, because there is a real difference with the French national team. And that is why I think, in my opinion, too many questions are asked,” Rothen said.
“If he speaks, there will be much less weight for him. It’s okay, you’ve already decided what you’re going to do, but make it clear if this is your last year at Paris Saint-Germain or not. If he will communicate in the coming weeks, it would be convenient for everyone (…) Come and explain things (…),” the former PSG player concluded.
He will continue with his plan
Kylian Mbappé and his entourage have a very defined way of acting, and they have never let themselves be influenced by any external opinion, so they will not do so now either despite the stance of the French press. They know very well when the right time is to make statements.
For the moment, the Frenchman plans to remain silent for at least until January. From there, he will make a decision, because Real Madrid wants to have everything ready in early 2024, and in January they could already negotiate.
