On the day of the draw for the 2023-2024 edition of the Champions League, defending champion Manchester City is the big favorite to win the trophy among bookmakers in France and Navarre. The Citizens are priced at 3.25 to lift the big-eared cup, ahead of Bayern Munich (7.00) and Real Madrid (10.00). PSG and RC Lens, for the two qualified French clubs, are further away, but in a credible outsider position for the first.
Manchester City first favorite to succeed
The reasons for this favoritism are manifold. Manchester City is the best team in Europe, defending champion in C1 and its very complete collective, with world-class players in all positions. Bayern Munich is the second favorite. The Bavarians no longer have Lewandowski and after the failure Sadio Mané arrived the Englishman Harry Kane, for the most expensive new transfer in the history of German football. As for Real Madrid, who won the Champions League in 2022, they remain as always a serious contender.
PSG as an outsider but more distant
Behind this top three, Arsenal, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are also teams to watch. Paris, despite the massive investments, remains in search of its first victory in the Champions League. The reconstruction started this summer, however, is less convincing to the bookmakers, who have gradually downgraded it in their hierarchy of potential winners. Other teams like Napoli, Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund also have a chance of winning the Champions League. These teams all have a solid workforce and can count on quality players.
The 2023-2024 Champions League will start on September 6, 2023 and end on June 10, 2024.
