LaLiga: Bellingham’s Brilliance Secures Real Madrid’s Unblemished Start to the Season

Real Madrid continued their remarkable run of form with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo at the Balaídos, thanks to a remarkable display by young prodigy Jude Bellingham. The English midfielder’s fourth goal in just three appearances for Los Blancos ensured their flawless start to the season remained intact.

The match got off to an eventful start, with Celta Vigo appearing to break the deadlock in the third minute through Jørgen Strand Larsen’s clever deflection of Fran Beltrán’s shot. However, VAR intervened, ruling out the goal due to Larsen’s infringement on the goalkeeper in the build-up. Real Madrid breathed a sigh of relief, but their luck took a turn for the worse when Vinícius Júnior was forced off the field with a hamstring injury.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men struggled to find their rhythm despite the introduction of Joselu, who added a different dimension to their frontline. It was Rodrygo’s moment of magic that momentarily ignited Real Madrid’s attack, as the Brazilian weaved through Celta Vigo’s defense, only to be denied by Carl Starfelt’s last-ditch block. The first half ended with both teams unable to find the back of the net, although Jonathan Bamba came agonizingly close to giving the hosts the lead.

The second half started in a similar fashion, with both teams failing to find the breakthrough. Larsen’s missed opportunity from close range added to Real Madrid’s growing unease. However, their fortunes changed when referee Diaz de Mera awarded them a penalty after Rodrygo was brought down by Celta Vigo keeper Iván Villar. Despite the opportunity to redeem himself, Villar’s fine save infuriated the otherwise composed Ancelotti on the touchline.

Iago Aspas had a chance to put Celta Vigo ahead shortly after, but his close-range effort from Manu Sánchez’s cross went astray. As the match seemed destined for a disappointing draw, Bellingham once again demonstrated his brilliance. The young midfielder displayed remarkable determination, outmuscling Joseph Aidoo to head home from a corner. Bellingham’s goal, assisted by Joselu’s flick-on from a Toni Kroos corner, secured the victory for Real Madrid and extended their winning streak against Celta Vigo to seven consecutive league matches.

The result leaves Real Madrid sitting comfortably at the top of the league table, while Celta Vigo continues to search for their first win of the season, languishing in 16th place. Ancelotti’s side has showcased their resilience and ability to grind out results, with Bellingham emerging as a key figure in their early-season success.

As Real Madrid’s unbeaten start to the season continues, their rivals will undoubtedly be taking notice. With Bellingham’s impressive performances and the team’s strong defensive displays, Ancelotti’s men have firmly established themselves as early title contenders. The challenge now lies in maintaining their momentum and building upon their positive start as they strive for silverware.
